Dear All,
At the time of marriage registration, there is a common statement for Bride/Groom/Parents that "I am declaring that I am not giving/taking dowry for this marriage" and both parties are required to sign.
If got registration and nevertheless the wife registered 498a case then can marriage certificate can be shield evidence preventing from the false case??

Dear Client,
At the time of Registered marriage you both have taken a vow not to give and tske dowry. but subsequently you may have started harassing her for dowry. Also Section 498A proceedings do not necessarily mean dowry related harassment only but also include cruelty of any form or a combination of all such a physical, psycho9loogical, mental and emotional etc. That's why she might've i9nstituted sec 498A IPC provisions against you. If as u sai8d it is a false case you'd be let off with acq2uittal.

The statement may not prove to be of much use in the case, has to defend on merits.
