I work as a Consultant to a very big MNC in Mumbai.Yesterday while coming out after office hours , I voluntarily opened my bag and showed everything to security at gate. But the security put his hand inside bag and pfished out my spectacle case and kept it back. I felt extremely insulted and reported to the security incharge. He said we have instructions for searching everybody. I told in that case why dont you search pockets also. He said we do not have such instructions. I told him then please let me know what instructions you have for searching. He directed me to the Commander. I will talk to commander on Monday. But I wanted to know whether I can take any legal action against the Company for insulting me and probably for treating all employees as thieves. By the way this is an office only and other than desk top PC there is no other valuable which any body will be tempted to take out.

Cool down.
Think things calmly.
If you go to the airport/railway station or other places like court, big shopping malls etc., one is subjected to security check.
Nobody feels any insult.
In your case, instead of checking while entering the office, they checked when you are leaving the office. It is the policy/instruction of the management. Probably they have to ensure something. Therefore, there is nothing to get insulted about so long as one is free from blemish.
By checking nobody is being treated as thief. It is your own thinking. Better come of age.

Even a tiny micro sd card can steal a lot.
Must respect Security checks.
He never intend to insult anyone. it is his duy.
You can lodge your grievances to security chief, who may direct Directors to do needful
