Recovery

(Querist) 12 February 2014 This query is : Resolved
Dear member kindly advice on below mentioned query;

Our organization planned family get together at an amusement park and accordingly we purchased 600 tickets; however, we utilized only 570 tickets. since we notice the same only after 2 days that 30 tickets have been lying with us, we informed amusement park to refund the amount of the unused tickets to which they replied "that it can be used upto 90 days from the date of issue; however, the tickets which were issued were given in a discount rate which was valid only for that day when it was issued; however, if one has to used these tickets now then he / she has to pay full amount then only entry will be permitted."

Since there is no deficiency of service or negligence on the part of amusement park, is there any other legal mode of recovering the amount of unused tickets???

Since, my job does not permit to approach advocate except in an extreme special cases, self will be thankful you all for solving my query.

no . you had bought 600 tickets for a particular day in present month . if you were not going to use said 30 tickets you should have returned same on said day and claimed refund . after 2 days you are not eligible for any refund . read terms and conditions of issue of tickets . you have no case for refund

In the given facts refund can not be claimed.

Lack of proper planning on the part of your organization cannot be to the disadvantage of the amusement park. If not settled earlier for refund on unused tickets, legally your organization cannot ask for refund for the unused tickets. The organization has to book the amount as a loss in its P&L Account.

Well advised by experts above, refund for unused tickets at this belated stage cannot be claimed.
