recently,there was a kerala high court judgement regarding the applicability of rti act to cooperative societies in kerala.

The cooperative societies, not being public bodies, are not governed by to RTI Act. but under the provisions of the Act RTI application may be filed with the Registrar of Cooperative Societies to collect the information from the concerned Society and furnish. In Maharashtra this is the procedure that is being followed.

Co-operative societies not being a public entity does not comes under the pureview of RTI.
