Sir,
I reside in gujarat and I have got a property from my father by an unregistered will written by him.When i reached to transfer the property
in my name in govt.records the authority said me for getting a probate.Now my question is as I am not falling under the jurisdiction of
Bombay,Calcutta and Madras high courts,shold I have to get a probate.(section 30 of hindu succession act 1956 read with sec.57 and 213(1) of indian succession act 1925.).Please advice.

Probate the will is nothing but entrossed by the court. It is more safer. So my personal suggestion is probate the will is good for ur future.

Probate of will is essential whether the will is registered or unregistered it is of no value but it must be signed by witness and after the probate of will right arises to the person to whom will is executed. So as per as my suggestion go for probate of will in the interest of your future right.

As per law the probate is not mandatory except original jurisdiction of
Bombay,Calcutta and Madras high courts.
