If a General Power of Attorney needs to be revoked, does it need to be registered in the sub-registrar office? The GPA has come thro' the US Consulate and has been signed by the sub-registrar.

Thanks Rajeev and Prabhakar.
The principal who has issued the power of attorney is still in US. The GPA was obtained thro' the US consulate. If revocation happens, should we check with the US consulate or will the information be available at the sub-registrar office?
Thanks in advance.
