I am a member of HUF. Our grand father purchased a property. It had devided among the brothers of my father. My father sold some part of his share and purchased a new property with this money.Am I a legal share holder on the new purchased property or not? What will be my legal right on the balance perental property whereas I have two brother and mother alive. My father has been expired this year without any will.
adv. rajeev ( rajoo ) (Expert) 21 February 2011
You and other two brother and mother are the legal heirs of deceased father. You all succeed the property of your father.
s.subramanian (Expert) 21 February 2011
Yes. You are entitled to a share since the property belongs to the joint family as it has been purchased with the funds from the sale of ancestral property.
Uma parameswaran (Expert) 21 February 2011
You are entitled to get equal share with all other legal heirs.
