1.How tough is to have AB if the concerned person has taken Downry in form of checque from Girls father

2.IF the biy side want to return money....how can he do that and will he will be out of 498a if he returns the money

498A IS DIFFERNT FROM 406 IPC. EVEN AFTER RETUNING MONEY HE CAN'T BE FREE FROM IMPLICATION OF OFFENCE U/S 498A.

cheque amount can be a gift, loan. U can return loan along with a letter to that effect send by Reg.post.Keep copy of it with u.

Thanks for you reply Sukhija but

two small queries

1.If they dont accept it and then w else i cna do or if they accept an dthen reutn by mail to us..

2.How strong cna be our case if we return it and prove that in court

..I also read a good news in Navabharat times abt the court sayng in one case if taking dowry is crime then also giving is...and both party authencity should be verified...how much it can help me (as girl has given note in court thatthey have given Dowry)..

My intention is to return the amount and take the girl home...but her father is tryng to encash it
