Respected sir,My sister's marriage was betrothed & i was forced to call of the marriage due to mental harrasement by bride's family & bride.
I have photographs of the engagement cermony.
I have made all marriage arrangements spending around Rs 5 lakhs.I have all the documents exchanged through mails.
can i file defamation case against them for rs 20 laks.
Will the judgement be favourable to me.

if you have proof, you can file criminal complaint or lodge FIR. contact your local counsel, who can guide you better.

file a case under the provision of Dowry Provision Act either before the police or in the court.
