Eye witness can corroborate in the absence of PM or any other substantial evidence. What was the charges u/s 304? Defence counsel has to be prudent and watchful to challenge the prosecution case.

For your information I shall reproduce the following, that section 304 refers to punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. You have still not cleared the doubt about the proper section and offence so far.
Before an accused is held guilty and punished under first part or second part of section 304 a death must have been caused by the assailant under any of the circumstances mentioned in the five exceptions to section 300; If the accused inflicted bodily injuries on the deceased which were of such nature that they were likely to cause death, there can be no doubt that the accused intended to cause and did cause the injuries, therefore liable to be punished under the first part of section 304 of Indian Penal Code;
Thus, in the case referred by you it appears from the postmortem that the cause of death was due to heart attack, hence the the case may not sustain. It depends upon how the defence counsel challenges the case.
