Opinion of hand writing expert as documents are forged but he was not examined - further remedy

(Querist) 05 June 2013 This query is : Resolved 
A Chit fund company filed case against Defendant. Defendant claimed ExA1 to A4 are forged and the Handwriting expert also gave his opinion that the documents are forged. The defendant failed to examine the Expert. The case was decreed against the defendant.

What is the remedy to the defendant in appeal?

He can lead additional evidence in appeal in case his application under order 41 rule 27 cpc is allowed.
