Election petitions are normaly the petition filed to challenge the outcome of an election or the election of a particular person.
There may be many grounds to challenge the election such as cash for vote, corrupt means to attract voters, ineligibel candidate getting elected etc.

There are a number of judgments with respect to election petitions on various grounds. Unless the details are known, it will be difficult to mention any of them.
