sir,
i register a complaint under ipc 507 against opponent & police officer direct me to apporoach nearest magistrate to file a suit. i want to know procedure to file suit,valid time period,apporox.cost of procedure.

You have to file a petition before the concerned Magistrate u/s 156(3) containing all the allegations against the accused person after which the court at its discretion may send the same to the concerned police station for the purpose of investigation and necessary action.
It is to be filed asap.
For cost it depends upon the particular lawyer as the lawyer's fees varies from one lawyer to another.
