I am an NRI. I was brought up and currently residing in muscat. I got married Jan 23rd 2015 in Trichy, Tamil nadu. My husband had agreed to come aboard with me after marriage since I wanted to finish my studies. But he did not come. His true colors revealed after marriage. i left after a month.he demanded me to come back after canceling my visa and stay with his parents. He mentally tortured throughout my pregnancy. he wanted more dowry and his father wanted a car. I did not go back to india fearing he might take my child away from me. I last called him in May 2015 and emailed him begging to live with him but no reply. After that, there was no contact. I gave birth to my child in Oct 2015 in muscat. My husband has not contact me at all, eventhough he was informed that i have given birth. In Feb 2016 i have sent him a divorce notice. He has replied in 22 pages of nonsense that im a bad person but he still he wishes to live with me because i have asked him to pay half the marriage expenses. till date he is not bothered to know anything about the baby. not even his name. im ashamed to have lived with a money eating person.
I jus want to know if he can stop me from coming back to muscat with my child and what if i am absent in court for all the hearings? what will be the consequences?Please help.. I have gone through a lot for a year. i want to put an end to this.

If your husband is not interested in you then I do not find any reason to go back to Muscat unless you have other independent means of living there.
For apathy of your husband to maintain and the child you can seek legal remedy from court of law by way of filing a case under PWDV Act.
On acceptance of lump sum of money to ensure safety of your future you can go for mutual divorce as well.
I do not find this bloke to lead a normal happy life with you anymore.

It seems he is not interested to live together any more.
He can not snatch your child from you. Indian passport may not be issued to your child without his consent.
You should file complaints of dowry harassment and domestic violence to force him to come at negotiation table.
Engage some expert lawyer to protect your interest and to get justice for you and your child.
