Respected Expert,

I am Trustee in a purely religious Trust. This trust was formed in 1950’s with object to serve and perform daily rituals to residing deity in temple attached to Trust. The then donors of land to Trust have donated a choultry to Trust, for conveyance of devotees coming to temple city, from nearby and far away places. And also with object to generate income to perform daily rituals to residing deity in temple, and also to celebrate the functions in religious manner (This temple belong to a particular cult of Hindu Religion)).

As the time elapsed devotees coming to temple city are not staying in choultry resulting in downfall of income of Trust.

Now my query is:

If I lease out the said choultry to ant society serving mankind in medical relief, does it effect my objects or it concludes that I am not meeting objects mentioned in original trust.

If my Trust joins as one of member of said society how it effects on assets of my Trust

Dear Shyam,

If it is aregistered trust, you will have other board members also. You can lease the premises,if the trust members support your opinion. As it generates income for the temple there is nothing wrong. But do it after due legal consultations.
