we plan to provide legal and financial services through pvt.ltd company
my question is that can advocate be a director of pvt.ltd?

It is not advisable to open pvt. ltd. company by lawyer and CA.
Extract of BCI Rules:-
"An advocate may be Director or Chairman of the Board of Directors of a Company with or without any ordinarily sitting fee, provided none of his duties are of an executive character. An advocate shall not be a Managing Director or a Secretary of any Company."
In operation of company, you and your friends should be engage in affairs of business of company.

You can open LLP firm. In that firm, all partners shall be advocates.
