Sir,I have inherited a plot measuring 6 cents through a family partition deed in 1974.I have a major son and i am selling the property now.The Bank lawyer is asking for a release deed from my son.There is no sale consideration for the same.Please let me know the stamp duty applicable for the same.

you may get it calculated at concern sub registrar office of state where property situate as it differs from state to state.
More over Bank lawyer is doing some extra over act when property was received by you by a registered partition deed ,there is no point to ask for a relinquishment deed from son.

You are absolute owner of your property and your son has no share therein so how can he release therefrom?
The approach of counsel for the bank is absolutely wrong. You should personally meet the officials of bank and convince them about this legal position. After partition, the property became your self acquired.
