Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 24 May 2011 This query is : Resolved
My case is in the Respondents Evidence stage where i am a respondent ...
During my cross examination i was asked by the court to bring certain documents of which i had given photo copy earlier as an evidence ...
During the next date my cross examination took place but those documents were not asked by the plaintiff lawyer or the court and Respondents Evidence was further adjourned ...
During the next hearing can i ask the court to kindly have those documents from me as i might lose it .

I dont know whether the documents sought by the Court are the originals of the documents produced by you earlier. If they are originals, you must request the court to take them on record. Because, as a general rule, original documents should be produced.

Yes one document is one which i had given in the list of the evidences but have not provided to the court...

Now can i ask the court to take those documents from me as i might not loose them ...

Thanks ...

Yes. You should produce those documents if those help your case. If your cross-examination is still continuing then you immediately on the next date of heating can say I have brought the required documents and if it has been concluded then you can move an application seeking permission to put those documents on file as demanded in cross-examination.
