no ! there is specific provision

earlier the HC used to issue such directions....but now after Sakiri Vasu's judgment, Hon'ble SC has held that no such direction can be issued by HCs.

the complainant is left with alternative remedy u/s 156(3) Cr.P.C.

however on certain times the HCs have entertained petitions for fair investigation into the matter which has sometimes resulted into registration of FIRs.

but such kind of FIR is more an outcome of pressure of court order for proper investigation.
