property share in self acquired property

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 15 October 2010 This query is : Resolved 
mother died intestate in 1969 leaving behind self acquired property / ansistral property of land and building. mother has got 1 son and 1 daughter. son sold the property in 1989 and did not give any share in the property to daughter. is it legal, if not can daughter claim her share now. Is there any time limit ? daughter died in 1996 can her children claim the share

at that time daughter had a right in self acquired property, but that right was not claimed.

now her children have no right to claim such share at this stage keeping in view the facts and circumstances.
