Irrespective of pick & chose method adopted by police taking on record the evidence, you will have the right to defend yourself in the court of law by referring to the relevant part of the evidence to fail the police evidence, if you are fully confident about that.

the police is supposed to go into the root of the matter in order to bring truth before the court.

for all certain reasons the police or Investigating Agency will rely upon the evidence or witness which is reliable in nature.

its not necessary to bring on record each and every guest as a witness.

However, if the police is misdirected or the investigation is done in illegal manner then you can seek interference of court for change of Investigating Agency.
