Opened an e-mail Id.What is the penalty for it?

Sir, My friend (A) opened another friend (B)'s e-mail which is in yahoo.(A) filed a case to the cyber branch and they found out that (B) accused has indeed opened but no harm done.(B) just read his mails thats all.What type of punishment is (B) looking at?! Is it serious like imprisonment or is it just a fine case?!?! The police came to take a statement from (B),and he confessed he had opened.Is what he did right or wrong.Will he go behind bar's for this?!

Opened mail with whose password? Means the user has negligently parted or compromised security in the name of personal trust.
