Instead of doing it own it would be better if you engage any new lawyer and get the grafting and the subsequent proceeding done by him. There is no impediment to engage another advocate in addition or in place of the existing advocate.

Request the court for adjournment and change the lawyer your problem would be solved. Ask the previous lawyer to hand over all the papers back to you and issue no-objection vakalath. If he does not, then issue a legal notice to him and refer the matter to the State Bar Council.
