Eligibility for pension

(Querist) 01 July 2010 This query is : Resolved
An employee of a public sector bank was awarded termination of service in 2006 and was paid bank's contribution of provident fund in full; Is he eligible for pension?
mahendrakumar (Expert) 02 July 2010
it depends upon the service rules of the bank.
Parthasarathi Loganathan (Expert) 02 July 2010
No. He is not eligible for pension as per recent Pension Regulations notified after the Nineth Bipartite settlement when Government has cleared for second option for pension.
mahendrakumar (Expert) 03 July 2010
i think the question was whether an employee whose service has been terminated is eligible for pension.

the provisions of the present 9th bipartriate settlement wont be applicable in this case as the same is effective from 2007 only.
