If the publication house is partnership firm and the person who signed the cheque is authorized signatory then you have to send the legal notice to both of them, if the person who signed the cheque is proprietor or issue the cheque in his personal capacity then send legal notice to him only.

Only then, you can issue notice to the person liable to pay you+ who signed the chq..

Is cheque have Rubber stamp of firm?? or name printed on cheque ??
