Dear Experts, I have a small situation of dispute involving a Internet Service provider.
My bill cycle was the 17th of every month.
Unfortunately I had to travel overseas on the 17th of Sept 2013, however the very next day 18th Sept in an email I requested for immediate suspension of services & that any outstanding bill will be paid. Now my understanding was I will be billed pro rata for a day or 2. But the ISP says they apparently take 7business days to cancel service and billed me INR 575 pro rata(which I feel is extortion). On my return in Dec in a phone conversation I offered for settlement of Rs250 coz I believe it was more than fair amount for 1 days lapse which this ISP did not accept.
Now I have received pre lit notice for payment of O/s amount INR 1430.Please advise, if I am right on my part and that my offer and actions have been convincing as I have intention of paying a just fare. Also, wat are the repercussions if I do not agree to the settlement offered (i do not intend to pay more than 250) and will the ISP pursue the matter further for such a petty amount (assuming the cost involved)

Sir, the link you have posted does not open any specific content, however I have browsed through the TRAI website and read the Common Charted which states under point 10 "closure
(disconnection) of telephone connection within 3 days, on receipt of a
letter of request from the subscriber". So technically provider shud have suspended my connection in 3 days and charged me pro rata only for 3 days..Do I have the right interpretation?
