Service tax

I have a firm registered with service tax. But actually this firm has been closed near 2 years before. Since then I have not filed any service tax return. Now I want to surrender this registration no. So Please tell me if it is necessary to file service tax returns upto till date before surrendering. Or I can surrender without it.

Dear Ritesh,

please filled the service tax return of prior period for which date of filling of service tax return is being extended till 10th of september 2013 for all belated period.

Return filing has to be updated meaning thereby all the returns from the registration to till date has to be filed online. Then surrender registration online.
