RESPECTED SIR/MADAM, I M UK NATIONAL AND WANT TO SELL OUR PROPERTY IN MUMBAI, BUT THE PROPERTY IS IN MY WIFE'S NAME AND SHE IS NOT TRAVELLING WITH ME. SO I WOULD LIKE TO SELL IT THROUGH POA. PLEASE ADVICE HOW TO DO IT. IF THE POA NOTERISED IN UK WILL BE VALID IN INDIA. AND POA NEEDS TO BE ON INDIAN STAMP PAPER OR ORDINARY PAPER, PLEASE ADVICE.

Yes it would be valid in India. POA may be on ordinary papaer but the same must be Adjudicated in India office.

I slightly differ with Barman. POA should be got drafted on UK stamp paper and should be got countersigned by Indian embassy or High Commission UK and should be sent in India and thereafter it should be got registered with the registrar at India and only thereafter, you can use it. The right to sell the desired property should clearlyy be mentioned therein.
