It is very much possible to register marriage in Mumbai, if you are resident of Mumbai for more than 6 months, they are just delaying and denying to get some favor.

Ask them the rules disallowing such registration.

It is quite surprising to know that the Marriage Registrar has said so.
If you could show the residence proof of Mumbai, the marriage could certainly be registered in Mumbai.

The marriage is registered wherein it had taken place so it is better for you to get it registered in Karnatka wherein your marriage had been performed.

I support the views of Mr.Makkad only.

Marriage has taken place in Karnataka . For registration you can register it in the same place. Registration at Mumbai, you have to prove that you have stayed in Mumbai for more than 6 months.
