Hello Sir,

My friend's father's elder brother (uncle) expired couple of months back, as they have no children his aunt decided to adopt my friend as a legal heir, kindly let me know how he can proceed with this, is drafing of will wil do..?
aman kumar (Expert) 21 October 2010
she can make a registered legal will
Raj Kumar Makkad (Expert) 21 October 2010
A registered adoption-deed shall suffice which can also remove future complications.
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 21 October 2010
But if your friend is major then he can not be taken in adoption.
pawan sharma (Expert) 21 October 2010
in your Q you did not mention the age of your friend?
if he is above 15 can not be adopted under law.
Kirti Kar Tripathi (Expert) 21 October 2010
in case he is more then 15 years, he can not be adopted but a will can be made in his favour.
s.subramanian (Expert) 24 October 2010
I concur.
