Lost copy of non-cognizable complaint

(Querist) 27 July 2010 This query is : Resolved
Respected experts,

I had filed a Non-cognizable complaint last year. But I lost the copy of the NC.

However I need to press the charges that I levied last year, but when I asked the police to have a look at the last years NC record with them, they said that they do not maintain last years NC book.

I would like to know as to how long is a copy of NC maintained by the Police.

It is maintained generally up to 3 years. Apply under RTI Act.

Never mind lodge another one and after waiting for few days approach the Magistrate u/s 156(3)crpc.
