What will be the stamp-duty on registration of gift deed if gift deed is within or outside family?

For state of maharashtra the stamp duty shall be 2% of market value of property if the gift is within family. For gift to any other person the stamp duty as of conveyance shall be applicable.

Stamp duty is the matter of state policy so it differs from state to state. Confirm it from the concern sub registrar office.

Dear Arathi,

In Karnataka, 1000/- stamp duty on Gift Deed of family members otherwise, stamp duty should be paid as per conveyance specified under article 20 of Karnataka Stamp Act, 1957.
