Let me know whether a legal notice can be served without the help of a lawyer?
can one fight his case in a court his own ?

The law never mandates the service of notice through lawyer only though people do so because of the expertise of the lawyers.

A notice can be served by a party himself. A party can appear in court to contest his as party-in-person
