Mahavat on free issues

(Querist) 20 August 2015 This query is : Resolved 
I would like to know if VAT is to be charged on free supply of goods in FMCG industry. ie. 2 units free on purchase of 10 units.Also if invoicing is to be done in a particular manner? Any problems that could arise during assessment?
