After the death of our main member in our family could not get the decision, whether the assets and liabilities lying on in the file of F. to whom is to be transferred whether to my mother and to me (as a alone legal hair) after the death of F. who can sign the ITR and how many years the Income Tax return field on the name of the deceased?

What is the relationship among F , you and your mother.
Who is other legal heirs of F?

Vague question! Law does not recognize the terms of "main member" or "F", indication of relationship is a must for deciding any case lawfully.

If F is father, you should have used the word "father" in your description instead of stating as main member and F. Main member can also be the earning elder brother, sister or uncle also upon whom the family depends.
