I would like to know the procedure of granting building permit for commercial flats. Adjacent to my house there is 20 cent plot. They are planning to construct 10 storey flat building. common passage is only 5 metres. Place is at kerala(municipal area).Any body knows the rules and regulations kindly revert

You are advised to contact with your Municipal Authorities , and get the sanctioned plan copy under RTI. If there is deviations or irregularities found file a complaint in this regard to the Municipal Authorities , if action not taken you may file writ before High Court.Or file a complaint against Municipal Authorities before lokayukta.

What is the problem you are facing? If u feel that the ten storey building is affecting your rights of easement (i.e.,right of passage, light and wind etc) you may have to issue notice to the builder to stop construction and modify the plans in such a way that the proposed building does not infringe on ur easements rights. If the builder does not heed to ur notice u will have to file a suit and obtain injunction against the builder.
