Hi Experts, Could you please let me know if my father who is 82 years old and partially blind due to retina degeneration gets an exemption to to file yearly income tax return under the it act?
This discussion explores whether a partially blind, 82-year-old individual is exempt from filing an annual income tax return under the IT Act. While there are tax reliefs for super senior citizens and individuals with disabilities, filing is generally required if taxable income exceeds the threshold. Super senior citizens (over 80) can use simplified forms like Sahaj or Sugam (ITR-1 or ITR-4).
