Ecourts status got the term "pfa"

(Querist) 24 October 2023 This query is : Resolved
Respected Sir/Madam,

As I am away from the place where the court is, I am unable to attend the court due to my work schedule and family reasons. Also there is no improvement in the case even though I go court, judge is not enquiring the case and putting another date. So I can't take much leaves in my company and also I am so far away.

I am A1 and asked my lawyer to submit 317 as I was unable to attend the hearing. Other accused in the case are usually attending all hearings as they are staying in local. This time I saw the following comment in the ecourts app, case is running in chennai court.

"A1 absent. PFA. A2, A3, A4 present"

What it means, should I attend the case next hearing or something else?

Thanks in advance

If you have not engaged Advocate, you need to attend the court

Protection from Abuse. Either you or your lawyer shall attend the court.
T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Expert) 24 October 2023
Since your advocate has filed a petition under section 317 cr.p.c., the court has condoned your absence on the date of hearing, thus it would be 'petition filed for absence', however nothing prevents you from clarifying the exact elaboration of this abbreviation.

You are welcome for your appreciations.

I concur the opinion and advise of learned expert Sh. T Kalaiselvan, it mean that your absence from court proceeding has been allowed.
