Donation to political parties

sir

pl guide me whether Central Govt employee can donate to political parties. if so, under what section he/she is exempted from Income Tax. Whether donated, will not attract any disciplinary action.

Why he wants to donate to the political parties. Let him donate to poor people, blind schools, orphans.

For political parties, voluntary contributions are fully exempt from tax. Income Tax Deduction for Contribution / Donation to Political Parties under Section 80GGC of Income Tax Act:
In computing the total income of an assessee, being any person, except local authority and every artificial juridical person wholly or partly funded by the Government, there shall be deducted any amount of contribution made by him, in the previous year, to a political party.
