Domicile Certificate

Sir,

I am located in mumbai and i wish to obtain domicile certificate, my brother was born out of Maharashtra and currently staying for the last 40 years in mumbai.

We need an help as to how do we make an application for domicile and the docuemnts required.

please heklp us.

The prescribed application forms are available from the local authorities, ie, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Tehsildar's office/Revenue Department/District Collector's Office. Documents for proving your identity, attestation of the form by officers with the necessary authority, will be required.

Documents needed: Original and photocopies of
School leaving certificate
Electricity bill as residential proof
Birth certificate
Ration card
Father's birth certificate/school leaving certificate

Take note: Domicile Certificate can be made only in one State/UT. Obtaining Domicile Certificate from more than one State/UT is an offence.

Sir,

My brother has no birth certificate, since he was born in UP in a village in the year 1962. We did not obtain birth certificate then, but hre in his school leaving certificate it is mentioned that he was born in UP. Will this thing suffice.

Secondly, the electricity bill is in the name of my late father and they are asking for the last 10 years .

please advise as to the right documents to be submitted.

sir,

i have the following documents available as under:

documents in name of my brother
school leaving certificate
ration card
voters card
pan card
bank statement

Here the consultant who does this work states that the rent receipt should be in our name, wherein my mother is still alive and we shall not get the rent receipt in our name. Secondly he says that the rent receipt should be from 2000 and my father expired in may 2009 how will the landlord issue us the receipts in old dates. Is it compulsory to have rent reeipt in our name.

please advise.
