Counting of past service

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 25 July 2020 This query is : Resolved
I have served a private college from year 2011 to 2016, Where I was a regular assistant professor. Afterwards I left the college for my civil service preparation for 2 years. In 2018 I got job in state government university. Will my past service from 2011 to 2016 will be counted for career advancement or direct recruitment for associate professor or because of 2 years of service break it will not be counted ?Universities are subject to UGC rules. Plz help.

past service was not under govt. so it will not be counted at all.

Sudhir kumar sir but as per ugc no distinction should be made on the basis of nature of institution while counting past services.

That could be the case if the college/school was an aided one and you had not left service and there was no break in service.

You have stated to have been appointed in 2011 and served till 2016, thereafter you have left the college for preparation. Accordingly your service was upto 2016 and thereafter it started afresh with fresh appointment (civil service) in 2018, which can not be counted for consequential benefits of your past service even if it may be presumed that the college was an aided by government.

Legally this is not possible, even from one govt.deptt. to another, if there is no break and if it was through proper channel it would have been possible and in your case had there not been break in service, might have been considered by another deptt, and further counting of past service involve many questions of seniority, pay fixation etc.

It was private college service, it would not be counted while computing your service in State Government.
