Darkhast means

A court gave its judgement and issued a decree in the year 1988. The said matter was then forwarded to the Maharashtra Revenue Department as a 'darkhast'.
I wish to know what exactly a 'darkhast' means?
Is there a time limit for finishing a darkhast file?
Can defendant after a gap of 25 years appeal against the said decree? (case was in lower court)
What steps can be taken by decree holder in case Revenue Department has lost the darkhast file (which is still under compliance) during execution of the decree?

Darkhast means application or petition. The word Darkhast is urdu word.

Darkhast is filed for execution of a decree. The word Darkhast in Maharashtra State refers to an application/ petition for execution of a decree of a civil court.
