Dear Experts,
My son travelled by Spicejet from Delhi to Rajkot via Mumbai. At Mumbai he found his registered baggage was misplaced, lodged a complaint, on assurance by Spicejet left for Rajkot. Being in Merchant Navy, beside his personal clothing, his baggage contained safety gear to enable him to carry out his job of inspection of the ship. He had to stay in a hotel & buy essential clothes at Rajkot awaiting his baggage but finally had to go for his job at the ship. His baggage was finally delivered to him at Delhi after 38 days. He had to spend approx Rs. 35000/- at Rajkot. Airline offered him compensation of 3000/- which he rejected & filed a case in Distt Consumer Forum. Can I get references to court cases where justified compensation has been granted.
