Closing of current account

Can I close my current in any bank in India by sending mail from registered mail ID.

You have to fulfil certain formalities ie surrendering of cheque book clearing of overdue if any and clear the laibilities for which you stood as surety.

If u are not in position to approach the bank personally for closing the account, you may send your application along with the un-used cheques and request the bank to close the account and send to you DD for the amounts standing to the credit of ur account. Take care to send the documents by Regd Post ACK due.
