Case for loss of repute

One of my uncle has posted a fake charge on my parents for theft. It was totally false and police has also rejected the claim. Now can i file a suit against my uncle for loss of repute. If Yes, how much would be compensation i can ask for?

you can file suit for damages . you can determine how much compensation would be just and fair . but disposal of suit would take couple of years .

Can i invole an advocate who is based out of Kanpur as the party to whom i want to sue is based in Lakhimpur-Kheri.

You can involve any person of Lucknow or Kanpur of Lakhimpur Khiri, it hardly matters. If you file suit for compensation, it shall require stamp duty to be affixed on the memo of plaint but if you file criminal case for defamation, there shall not be any requirement of stamp duty. You have to make choice now.
