Can i install cctv camera in apartments' parking zone

Hi
I own 2 flats in a single building apartment with a parking area. This parking area is common for six car parking owners and free parking form bikes. For last few months I'm suffering from vandalism as my car getting badly scratched, cover getting damaged. Can I install a CCTV in the parking zone to catch the culprit?

Better install a cheap ebay camera,which would be enough.CCTV U need the approval of the other residents,and I don't think they would agree.
Also bear in mind that identifying the perpetrator may not do you any good. If it's a local kid then what are you going to do? Will the police pursue it? Are the parents going care enough to do anything about it?

Thanks for the update. But do CCTV always need a approval for installing in public area like parking zone ? It'll not focus to any other flat/door - only to my car. I'm afraid the ebay camera might not fit the purpose. And I'm pretty sure it's being executed by an adult - not a child

That I'm doing but need to know the legal aspects here. is there any legal clause which can be a constraint to set a cctv camera in a public place (owned by few members in the apartment)to protect a private property of the flat/parking zone owner?

When you opt to install in common areas namely parking places, gym etc of an apartment, you need to get permission from the association to fix the same and to avoid complications

Thanks for the update. But there is no association in this building. And I anticipate some one within the flat owners is doing this vandalism. A general diary is already registered in local PS for the same .
what to do in this case?

U keep on adding information about UR problem bits by bits,why didn't U mention earlier that U had already given a complaint.Have the police agreed to send a constable to guard UR car every night.

CCTV can be installed till privacy of others are not effected / objected to by others / objected by the society / does not violate local rules.
