Any name U want the exclusive user of has to be registered. It need not have anything to do with the name of your CO. U R advised to register under the Copyright Act.

The Shops Act and Inspector appointed the Act can explain.

In the Act of your state the sections on display of Shop name may be read.

The issue is related to Brand name. Brand name can always be different from the name of establishment in registration process.
The brand name or trade mark needs to be exclusive and unique and not the one which may be in use by others.
Suggestion - select the name with a distinct logo and apply for registration of the same;ambiguity shall be over.
it is not your understanding but the understanding of others which is important;that they must not take yours as some other trade/business which may suffer due to you.
The matter is not related to Copyright but Trade mark and the application for registration is simple process at Dwarika, New Delhi for Delhi guys.
