My father and his colleague(xyz) had purchased a plot in kanpur in the year 1975.The property was registered in the name of my fathers colleague(xyz) and my mother.Later after retirment my fathers colleague(xyz)left Kanpur on his on will and went to reside somewhere else. Before going he gave all the rights of the property to my mother in the form of power of attoney(MUKTHARAAM).In 1980 my father constructed a house on the said plot and we have been residing there for the last 35 years, all the bills we get i.e water tax, sewer tax, electricity bills etc are in the name of my mother. In 1999 my mother and subsequently in 2003 my father died. There is no will written or executed by mother.
We do not have any contact with my fathers collegue after he left kanpur neither his where abouts are known to us.we are 6 brothers and sisters all married. It is a leased property which has to be made free hold at the same times we want the property to be transfered in our name (all brothers and sisters). Can any body please suggest how to resolve the issue.

Hello,
I would like to seek guidance in the matter of installation of CCTV cameras in parking area of the society and outside the main door.
My vehicle was damaged while it was parked in my Stilt parking which is on the backside of the building. It seems as if someone has used a bamboo stick or a iron rod to damage the vehicle. On questioning the watchman, he said he is not aware as he was in front side of the building. Due to this, I plan to install CCTV cameras in the stilt parking and outside my main door for security reasons. I have following questions:
1) Can the society object to my installation of the CCTV cameras in parking or outside my main door?
2) What measures should be taken to ensure that this process is smooth?
3) Are there any other permissions to be taken e.g. Police or BMC before I proceed to install the CCTV cameras?
Regards,
Manischa

Sharing of property after death of the houselord
An old man has died leaving behind his wife,3 established sons and 2 married daughters. He had made no will, although he had huge property. Now the mother has some leaning towards the youngest son, somewhat less liberal to second one and least inclination for the 3rd one.The daughters have however expressed that they have no claim to the property The question is whether the mother can distribute the property in an uneven manner or everything will have to be distributed equally amongst 4 ie mother and 3 sons, considering daughters have no claim whatsoever. Please advise what the law permits. With thanks.
