A two wheeler which was purchased in my name by the Director of the company was subsequently sold to another person. The two wheeler was involved in an accident, the victim was pedestrian. The driver has given false name and address to the police. The Insurance is in the name of another person. The driver did not have DL. The victim has claimed Rs10 lakhs as compensation. Will the court order me to pay the sum? Is there any way I can avoid this? I am unemployed and do not have money to pay.

Hi Experts,
My brother had committed suicide on 16th February 2011.
My brother has left a wife and a 2-month old baby.
On checking his phone records, we found some threatening/mental torture/obscene messages from an unknown number. Later I, along with the police officials, traced the number and found that it was one of our family friend who my brother might had a relation ship with, in the past. Also prior to his death, he had confided to 2 of his friends that the concerned girl was mentally harassing him and blackmailing him for commitment. The police have taken the statements of these 2 friends. The Police has recorded the girl's statememt, without displaying that she is being considered as a suspect, in which she denied having any recent coversations or any untoward relationship with my brother. But even the police have identified that there are suffient electronic proofs to prove otherwise.
The police have advised me that she might get arrested under 306 if I filed an FIR, but the case stands very weak in front the court and that she might get acquitted quite easily.
My entire family is distraugt and moreover we all have always treated her as a sister/daughter. She still comes to our house and acts like sister/daughter. Kindly suggest me for what I should do? I am too disturbed.
Regards,
Samson.

Recently, the Supreme Court has directed the trial courts in India to frame charge u/s302IPC along with 304B in dowry death cases.
Kindly let me know the particulars of that judgement. Regards.

what is the procedure to seek bail on 498A charges at the time of filing of chargesheet. we were on Arrest Stay upto chargesheet. Now Chargesheet is filed and we the co accused have to apply for regular bail. My son the main accused is already on regular bail as he was arrested.
Is it difficult to secure bail on surrender I my wife are senior citizens and the other side is putting pressure to pay huge amount else they would object our bail petitions.
Please suggest basis the general trend after chargesheet and after bail of husband. Though its discretion of the court.
Query for cheque
Respected Members,
I lost two of my signed cheques bearing amount 25,000 each but it didnt beared the name to whome i am giving the cheque i.e. the PAY line was empty. Some one known to me got the cheques and xeroxed it after that he handed over that cheques to me. My query is " Is there any possibility of legal action against me?"." Does xerox copy of cheques bear any importance in case??"
The cheques are with me and still bear only the amount and my sign.
