Body donation

(Querist) 11 January 2025 This query is : Open
Veterans,
please guide me.
1) Registration of body donation declaration is necesary or mere notarised document is enough.
2) if registration of body donation declaration is optional like will deed;
3) there is no option available at TNREGInet in tamilnadu website.
4) how to legalise the documents in respect of body donation declaration.

My concern is
If I submit declaration to medical college hospital, the body or cadaver can be given only to that particular medical college.
In case my death happened at out of station, (away from the medical college where I have given declaration) my intention to Donate will have no value because the medical college in that location will not accept while the donation is intended to local medical college. (Moreover body should be donated within 6 hours of death for medical conditions).

I understand the living WILL is only for medical treatment and not for body donation.

Therefore, I was expecting universal declaration and registration in Govt registration department..

The central Govt organisation NOTTO and State Govt institution SOTTO are accepting universal donation declaration only for organ donation. But not for body donation.

So
I expect the veterans to kindly guide me on this to execute my intention and make it legalised

The form can be obtained in the “Dept of Anatomy”. The potential donor must fill the form, attach their photographs, and it needs the consent of potential donor and his/ her near relatives in the form of signatures or thumbprint.
During lifetime, a person can pledge for organ donation by filling up a donor form in the presence of two witnesses, one of whom shall be a near relative. The organ donor form could be obtained from ORBO either personally or through mail.
There is no upper age limit. Next of kin/guardian/person in lawful possession of the body of the deceased can donate the body of the deceased, even though the deceased is not a registered donor. You have to contact the Anatomy Department for the same to donate their body.7

I understand Ji.
Thanks for update 😃

But my concern is not on the procedure but centralised donation

I understand Ji.
Thanks for update 😃

But my concern is not on the procedure which is clear from letter from Govt of Tamil Nadu, no.47824/z1/2007 dated 30.6.2008 and No.45271/z1/2009dated 25.01.2010.

My concern is about
In case my death happened at out of station, (away from the medical college where I have given declaration) my intention to Donate will have no value because the medical college in that location will not accept while the donation is intended to local medical college. (Moreover body should be donated within 6 hours of death for medical conditions).

. Therefore, I was expecting universal declaration and registration in Govt registration department to legalise The documents for body donation.

The central Govt organisation NOTTO and State Govt institution SOTTO are accepting universal donation declaration only for organ donation. But not for body donation. So I expect the veterans to kindly guide me on this to execute my intention and make it legalised.

Please excuse me. This is not repetitive query. But no clarity in the legal application. This i am seeking guidance from veterans

If there is provision in law to solve your desire then you may have to follow the existing law on the subject.
You are aware of all the stipulations but despite that you are asking for a solution which may not be found by the prescription of law of the land.
Therefore you have to abide by the existing rules only if your intention is that.

Presumably it is a time pass or examination hall post.
visuiyer (Querist) 14 January 2025
No ji
It is not time passing..

I have been advised to register declaration in multiple Medical college at location where I used to visit, alternatively, suggested to have it registered in multi location College where they have affiliation.

I have added precisely, this in declaration, stating the provisions of the Tamilnadu anatomy Act 1951 and keeping the following ready for submission.

1. Self declaration notorised
2. NOC and consent letter from legal heir
3. Visible Identification mark certificate of donar
4. Id and address proof and photo of both donor and legal heir
5. latest medical and lab report
6. Along with application prescribed by Indian medical council (education)

Thank you all for the support and guidence for the noble act
The efforts taken sincerely in this task now get me enough knowledge and experience on voluntary body donation.
